IF YOU ASK ANYTHING IN MY NAME, I WILL DO IT! - John 14:14

Introduction:

    *If you ask anything in My name , I will do it. - John 14:14

*How will we ask?

1. When you pray, do not do it on public places.
--Matthew 6:5 ¶ And when you make your prayers, be not like the false-hearted men, who take pleasure in getting up and saying their prayers in the Synagogues and at the street turnings so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward. 6 But when you make your prayer, go into your private room, and, shutting the door, say a prayer to your Father in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will give you your reward.
   
2. Do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do.
--Matthew 6:7 And in your prayer do not make use of the same words again and again, as the Gentiles do: for they have the idea that God will give attention to them because of the number of their words.

*What are the things that we need to ask from the Lord in prayer?
(Our Father already knows the things that we need before we ask Him.)
       --Matthew 6:8 So be not like them; because your Father has knowledge of your needs even before you make your requests to him.

1. Show your devotion to God
(hallowed - to show devoted deferential honor to).
--Matthew 6:9  ¶ Let this then be your prayer: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
     
2. Show your subjection to His will.
--Matthew 6:10 Let your kingdom come. Let your pleasure be done, as in heaven, so on earth.
     
3. Ask for your daily bread.
--Matthew 6:11 Give us this day bread for our needs.
(But he answered, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread
alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'"
--Matthew 4:4)
*Wisdom : It's an all-in-one request!
                What is wisdom?
*Wisdom - is the power to see, and the inclination to choose, the best and highest goal, together with the surest means of attaining it. (www.desiringgod.org/blog/posts/what-is- wisdom)
*James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him.
*What will you gain if you have wisdom from the Lord?
                    -Salvation :
                    -Peace of Mind :
            -Provisions/Bread : is guaranteed for He even cares
for the sparrows in the air.

4. Ask for forgiveness of your sins and forgive.
--Matthew 6:12 And make us free of our debts, as we have made those free who are in debt to us.
(You can't offer what you have if there is a dispute between
you and your brother ..?? reference)

5. Pray for the deliverance from temptation and the evil one.
--Matthew 6:13 And let us not be put to the test, but keep us safe from the Evil One.
            Who are the evil ones?

6. Recognize the power of God and praise Him.
--Matthew 6:14 For if you let men have forgiveness for their sins, you will have forgiveness from your Father in heaven.
     
7. Always seal your prayer in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ .
--Col 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in
the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the
Father by him.

*Prayers Answered if you have :
        A. Faith : Believing on things that are unseen.

*Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

B. You have charity/love :

*You do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. --Matthew 6:1

*If you do it publicly, you already received your reward. --Matthew 6:2

*Charity is greatest above all. -- Col 3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

C. Guaranteed Answer :

*Anything we ask in His name will be granted as promised. --John
14:14

But not from persecution as even the prophets were persecuted before us.

How can you be called Born Again Christians?

You are a Born-Again Christian if:

• You accept and believe being a son of God.
• You are empowered by God to become His son!
• John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
• Your not born through the will of God and not through flesh!
• John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 
• You are a believer of Jesus Christ and you're destined for everlasting life!
• John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
• What are the requisites of your testimony being a born-again? (This is only evident to those who believe.. to those who see.. to those who hear the calling and chosen by God.)
• Be born-again to see the kingdom of God!
• John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
• Nicodemus asked: How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
• Jesus answered and explained:
• John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
• John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
• John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
• John 3: 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
• John 3:9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
• John 3:10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
• John 3:11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
